I was so looking forward to this session yesterday. I first met the M family in 2010 when we did an extended family session. This time around Kelly contacted me to do a family session at the FDU Mansion in Madison. She and her husband were married there 10 years ago in July. Isn’t that romantic? I love it when clients choose locations that are special.
It’s been a long year for Kelly and her family. She was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and has undergone radiation as well as chemotherapy. She told me that pictures were important to her now. With everything that has been going on lately, I could not agree more! You’re always going to be too busy. But that’s when you know it’s time to slow down and breathe. I know there are people out there who don’t value photography. To them, a photograph is just a piece of paper. Better yet, it’s just a bunch of pixels taking up room on your computer. This could not be further from the truth. Photographs are a reminder of what true love is. They have the ability to freeze time. They conjure up memories and emotions that are important to you.
For Kelly, this session will capture a time in her children’s lives that will not come again. A time when they are curious and the world is still a magical place. A time when monsters and dinosaurs still exist. A time when fairies are real and stuffed animals come to life. A precious time that will pass way too quickly. Kelly, I had such a wonderful time with you and your family. You and your husband seem so in love even after 10 years. The kids obviously adore you and you are a brave, strong woman. I hope you love these images as much as I do!
